CycleTEK Momentum1 FAQ

Why buy a CycleTEK Momentum1 indoor trainer?

The CycleTEK Momentum1 offers a lot of features not found on any other trainer including six points of floor contact and adjustable back legs for a solid, stable ride even on uneven floors. At 7lbs, the M1 features the largest flywheel in the industry for a more authentic, road-like feel. The 60mm roller (also the largest in the industry) makes the CycleTEK M1 the smoothest ride of any trainer available.

Will my bike fit a CycleTEK M1 trainer?

CycleTEK M1 trainers are designed to fit the following bike sizes:

  • 24 in
  • 650 c
  • 26 in
  • 650 b
  • 700 c
  • 29 in

*CycleTEK M1 indoor trainers are not designed for small wheel or BMX style bikes. We have no current plans for a small wheel adaptor.
How will hot / cold weather affect the CycleTEK M1 trainer?

Hot / cold weather (-50°F - 130°F) does not affect the resistance unit on your CycleTEK M1 trainer. The M1’s resistance unit is filled with a thermodynamically neutral silicone, which is a fancy way of saying that the silicone will not freeze in cold temperatures, and it won’t thin in hot temperatures. You’ll get the same smooth resistance no matter what temperature you’re in.

Can I use knobby tires on my CycleTEK M1 trainer?

Yes, you can use knobby tires on your CycleTEK M1 trainer, but you will definitely have some vibration and noise. If the vibration and noise distracts you, there are slick tires available specifically for indoor trainers.

Why is the quick-release lever on my CycleTEK M1 trainer difficult to move?

For your safety, the quick-release lever on your CycleTEK M1 trainer is locked into place by the silver ring nearest your trainer’s quick-release lever. Once you loosen the silver ring, you should be able to move the quick-release lever with no effort. Forcing the quick-release lever into place can damage your M1 trainer, and is not recommended.
